My Rosy's Card

I stamped and colored this image quite awhile back...like when I was at my in-laws for Thanksgiving, and it has been sitting on my stamping desk ever since. This image grabbed my attention because it just screams my sister-in-law Rose's name. She is a book-a-holic and is blessed to have a job she was made for, a children's librarian.

Her birthday is coming up and that is what motivated me to finally get this image onto a card. I usually pick my papers and then color, so this was working a little backwards for me-having a colored image to find paper for. I was so excited when this "Winterberry" paper from TAC was a PERFECT match. I found that too much of this pattern was overwhelming on the card, so I found a sketch among my sketches that worked. I love the finished card, but can't tell you why. I wish the scan was a little better, but the one little lumpy item on the card caused
shadows in one area and a washed out look in another...oh well.
Supplies
Stamps: Girl Reading (Stamp Affair)
"Flourishes" TAC
Ink: Palette Noir (and whatever my MIL had)
Paper: WInterberry (TAC), white and Walmart black (which only works well for layering)
Accessories: watercolor pencils and blender pen (SU!), Bitty Blossom, and a little colored plastic thingy I was sent from a friend but don't know what they are....love them though.

  1. I can't love this card enough. I just love the image and how you colored it. None the less the layout and the delicate details.
