Monkeying Around

I just found out last night that my almost 5 year old nephew fell off a chair and broke his arm. So I made a quick card in hopes of cheering him up. I used some images another demonstrator had sent to me quite awhile ago, but I have never had the time to use. The set is called "Monkey Business" and was perfect for this.

The inspiration for this layout was todays sketch challenge on SCS.

Christmas Card

My wonderful husband got me a gift certificate for our anniversary, and then to top it off, he went shopping with me. It was a lot of fun. One of the things that he "got" for me was a new Cuttlebug embossing folder. I have loved all the cards I have seen with these snowflakes.
I am also a part of a Christmas card challenge on A Shade of Blue. The idea is to do a set amount of cards each month so that when it is time to send out Christmas cards in December there is no stress. I have about 50 cards done, and my goal is to do a 100. It feels good to know that even if I get no more finished I would have enough to send out to my family and closest friends,
The stamp set used on this card is called Fall Sampler, a bit of a misnomer since it has both fall and winter stamps in it. I once again used my Clever Lever punches and colored with watercolor pencils and Dove blender.

Quick and Easy Cat Card

This is one of the easiest cards that I have made in a long while. It is using a left over piece of paper (Uptown Girl-TAC) from the first card in the post below this one. I used another two of Clever Lever punches that TAC carries, but this time I used the Mega and Super Jumbo Circles. Again I colored the GWP cat stamp with watercolor pencils, a Dove blender, and stickles. I added another stamp set, called My Journey, for the words. Quick, simple, and every so easy, but I know a young lady who will LOVE it.

Uptown Girl And GWPs

Here are two cards I made using the Uptown Girl paper from The Angel Company and two of our Gift with Purchase stamps, that come free with any $30 purchase made from a demonstrator. I used the two largest size Merchandise Tag punches for the tag and added a little ribbon with a staple for a finishing touch. For a bit of pizzazz on the cat I put a little bit of pink Stickles. All the coloring was done using watercolor pencils and a Dove Blender pen. I think she came out kinda cute. The only real difference between the cards is the main color on the background and the kind of ribbon on the tag.

Playing with a New Toy

I was finally able to get my hands on some of the Cuttlebug Embossing Plates right before I went on vacation. I LOVE them. They are so fast and easy to use with my Big Shot, and make such great impressions...no more hurting hands for meHere are a couple of cards that I made while I was playing with them. As you can tell I am still in love with the Pull Up Anchor set that I got for myself earlier this summer. I have had so much fun with it.

Another Card Sketch for you

Back from Vacation

I am back from a week and a half vacation, and boy do I need a vacation from my vacation! Don't get me wrong, it was a fun trip, but I am still worn out.

I travelled with some good friends, Justin and Sheena, in their van from Oklahoma to New York with 4 boys in the van ages 6,3,3, and 2. And Yes, we did have people telling us we were crazy before we started. We spent a week at a family church camp there in New York, where I also met up with my parents, some siblings Shari, Joe,and Rose, and my niece Faith (whom I had never seen before)and nephew David. After camp I went to my parents home in Maine for the weekend. It was so nice to be "home" again, and also to see my nephew Ezra, who I had also never met before. Sometimes it stinks living so far from family.

The trip home started out uneventfully, but it definitly didn't end that way. We met up with my friends again in Massachusetts, and settled in for an even more crowded trip home (how come there is always to much less room on the way home from vacation than there was on the way there, hmm?)
The last day of the trip was a doozy! We were on the road at 7ish in the morning, at about 11 we stopped for potty breaks and found a nail in the front tire. We got that patched and got back on the road. At 11:30ish we have a blowout on the OTHER front tire, what are the chances of that?!?! Justin changes that tire to the spare and we go back and get that one fixed, and he makes sure the tires are all good to go (after 2 in a row you have to be careful, if you know what I mean)
We are soon on the road again, but get this, we get about 15-20 miles down the road and there is ANOTHER blow-out!!! This time on the back of the van!!! The highway patrol, and the tire place both can't believe they are seeing us again. According to the tire place we can mark it down as two freak accidents in a row! Whatever, all I know is that with four little boys in a hot van, needing naps, but getting woken every couple of minutes for blown out tires, it was a LOOONG day. Oh, and did I mention it was 103 degrees in that shade that day...it was still 93 when we pulled into my hometown at 10:30 that night.
I will have to post pics of all of this when I get them from Sheena, since my camera wasn't working.

I guess we were making memories, you know what they say, these hard times soon become the "good old days" I guess we will wait and see. LOL!
