New Sketch and a Couple of Cards

Here is this weeks sketch challenge, along with a couple of cards that I just made up using one of TACs new stamps sets. This set is called "I Love Easter" I love how it can be used for more than just Easter cards.

Color Challenge

This is a card that I made for the Color Challenge for this week on A Shade of Blue. The colors we had to use were pink, green, and black. I combined it with another challenge from last week. This challenge is called Take 5. I had to use the five items she had listed on this card. Those items were colored cardstock, coloring medium, glitter, tags, and eyelets. It was very fun!
The stamp set I used on this card is called Wedding Wishes by The Angel Company.

Birthday Chicken

I participated in a fun challenge on A Shade of Blue this week. An advertisement was posted and we were to use it for inspiration in any way that we wished. I took the main colors from it and came up with this card.

The stamp set is from TACs Keep on Cluckin' and the paper is from the DCWV 12x12 paper stacks

Boy Cards

Here are two quick cards I put together for a pack of cards for my MIL. She teaches kindergarten at a Christian school, and always needs little boy cards. I think I will make her a couple of little girl cards too...we will see.

Finally!

FINALLY!!! We have internet service at our new house! It is only dial up, but at least it is something. I can't believe it has been a month and a half since I have last posted here. I am settling in to my new house, and LOVING having a place of my own...now if I could just figure out a way to get DSL, hmmm.

I have not been able to get a lot of stamping done recently, I go into my stamping room (more of a closet) and end up cleaning or reorganizing things, but here are my most recent creations. I am also including my sketch for ASB this week. I am finally back to doing them again thanks to good ole dial up.

New House!!!

Sorry this blog hasn't been updated in awhile. On top of other things going on in my life, I am in the middle of moving from an apartment into our new house!!! At least it will be our house on Tuesday! YEAH!

My stamping things are all either packed, or will be today. I hope in the next week or so to get back to some major stamping as I am really starting to miss it.

See you then

Sad News

I don't know how to give this news in an easy way, so I will just say that I have miscarried. It was hard to lose this baby. I was so excited and happy to be pregnant, and this baby was already a part of my heart. I do know that God sees a bigger picture and that He loves both me and my baby, since, for some reason that I don't understand, he decided to bring this child home to be with Him very early, I will choose to trust in Him, knowing that His ways and His timing are always perfect.

I will appreciate your prayers as my family heals.
God Bless

I have been TAGGED!

I have been officially tagged by my "grandma" angel, Avis Anderson. I just copied all the rules from her blog so here it goes

"This tag is called THE NAME GAME. Below tells you how it works.THE NAME GAME: The name of the game is to list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life, for each letter of your middle name. If you don't have a middle name, use the name you would have liked to have had. When you are tagged, you need to write your own blog post containing your middle name and game facts. At the end of your blog post you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged and to read your blog."

My middle name is Jadine...nice and not quite short, let's see if I can do this.

J-justified...my Jesus did this for me, it is now "just as if I'd" never sinned
A-artistic...or at least crafty, and I do think there is a difference
D-dreamer...I have great dreams for what I would like from my life in the future...now to get working on them
I- Intelligent...well, maybe not, since I have to go look to see whether I spelt the word right
N-nice...at least I try real hard to be
E-ever so glad to be done with this, and eager to be on to some stamping...LOL!

I can't believe how hard that was for me....
Consider me a party pooper, but I am not tagging anyone, I don't visit a lot of blogs, and most of the ones I do, with letters from my name, have already been tagged.

Thanks for the fun Avis (to visit her blog, with some really cute cards on it, just click on her name)

Two Little Cards

I made a couple more cards yesterday, and here are two of them. Again they are at the 3.5x5" size, which I am really enjoying. I have decided to put a bunch of these cards together for my aunt for her as a gift. I am not putting any sentiment on them so that she can decide what event she would like to use them for, (and I know that she has Tag Tidbits and a couple of other sentiment stamps for just this reason)

The stamps I used on these cards are Wild West and African Giraffe.

Giraffe Baby

I made this Giraffe baby card using the sketch I posted on 9-28. I haven't had much time to play with my new stamps, so it was nice that the kids slept in this morning and allowed me to actually finish a card.
The stamp set I used on this card is called Hello Baby and such a fun one to color and design with. I used watercolor pencils and a Dove blender to color with, and also the Gray Tombow marker for shading around the giraffe.
The little tabs that go around the main image are from the center of the smallest of the oval bookplates diecut.
The size of this card is 3.5 x5" I used this size since I found a huge stack of envelopes left over from my wedding thank yous...and yes, my wedding was over 8 years ago. Time to use the stash I think.

Bon Voyage

Here is a quick card I made yesterday. I was stamping with my two boys, so it was hard to really concentrate on what I was making. If I didn't have yesterdays sketch challenge as an outline I don't think I would have gotten anything done at all.

All the stamp sets that I used came from the new box of stamps I just received Monday...my TAC winnings! The stamps sets are Pirates, Fun Tags, and Tag Tidbits. I also used my Cuttlebug embossing folder with my Big Shot for the background

Two More Contest WInners

Here are two more of the cards that won a TAC contest this month. These were part of a Terrific Trio, but I can't find where I saved the other card on the computer. If you want to see the other one you can check out TAC homepage at theangelcompany.net, then go to the Creative Corner.

For those of you who don't know what a Terrific Trio is, it is a contest challenge to create three different cards using only two different stamp sets. It is a lot of fun, and made me redo a couple of the cards so that they would fit the challenge rules. I used the stamp sets "Running Stitches" and "Pull Up Anchor", two of my favorite stamp sets out there. The paper I used is called Pop Rockz. I also used the circle paper punches that TAC sells, stickles, and watercolor pencils and a Dove blender.

One Winning Card

Here is the card that won the "I Love This Set" category. I DO love this set, it is so cute, but I don't even own it. I stamped off some images from another angel (Jen Bluestein) when visiting her house for an angel get together. I knew it would be awhile before I could place an order for myself, so I was so happy to be able to play with some new images. Winning a TAC contest was not even in my mind at that moment...but WAHOO...I am so blessed that Jen was willing to share.
Oh, and by the way the name of this set is "Pick of the Patch" The patterned paper that I used is from TACs Amelia collection. I used this paper for a fall card, but believe it or not is also works wonderfully for Christmas cards.

My new order of free stamps should be here on Monday, it took me quite a while to decide which sets I wanted to order...choices, choices, choices. If you don't hear from me for a couple of days after that, you will know that I am busy cutting up stamp sets and and stamping, stamping, and more stamping.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Sketch Challenge

Sorry I am late on getting this posted for this week. I didn't even realize I had forgotten until I posted my earlier post today.

More Card Swaps

Here are two more cards that I sent out in recent swaps. I was just waiting for everyone to receive their cards before I posted them on line.
I also used some older sketches from A Shade of Blue's weekly sketch challenges, done by yours truly. I now post most of these sketches here on my blog, but some of the older ones were done before I was blogging. Go and check them out!

A Puppy Card

I think I can safely post this card that I made for a swap since every should have received their cards by now.

I LOVE this little doggy, he is so fun to color and play with, and did I mention that he is just plain cute! Know what is even better, he comes FREE with a $30 order from TAC! You can't beat that.

To make this card I also used my new scallop punch with a circle punch from TAC...I LOVE those scallop punches, they really change a card.

MORE Great News

I have some more great news to share! This time it is a little more personal, yet still exciting. So here is goes....I am PREGNANT! This will be our third child and I am so excited. I have been wanting another child for about two years, and was just waiting for my husband to get in line with me.
This baby will be due sometime in the spring, but since I tend to wait awhile to go to the doctor, I haven't figured out the actual due date.

So far, so good with the pregnancy. I don't tend to get sick with mine, in fact, talking to others about theirs, it seems as if mine are a breeze.

Card for Last Weeks Sketch

I just realized that I never posted my card for last weeks sketch, so here it is now, only a week late. It uses "Tip Toe," "Basic Backgrounds" and "Background Squiggles" by TAC. I also used their wonderful chalk inks. I love the soft feel they give.

Sketch Challenge 9-18

Here is this weeks sketch challenge and a card that I made to go with it. I used TACs set "Everything Nice" and watercolor crayons on this card. The color scheme was taken from the ribbon.

TAC contest WINNER!

I did it!!! I FINALLY won, not one, but two TAC contests!!! Check out the cards on The Angel Company's website http://www.theangelcompany.net/contestwinners.html To see mine click on the duck and the lighthouse ones. Winning one of these contests was one of my top goals for the year, and I can't even start to tell you how excited I am! Now off to pick out the stamp sets I want with the "prize money"

Black and Blue All Over

This is a card I made for the color challenge on ASB this week. The challenge was to make a black and blue card. I used a scallop punch for the circle, and a corner rounder for the straight scallops. The sets I used were TAC's Dog GWP and Basic Backgrounds.
I also used my Big Shot with a Sizzix die for the bookplate, and attached it with eyelets using my Crop-a-Dile (LOVE that tool!).

Hiking Bears

Here are two cards I made for fun. I am playing some more with mineral spirits and colored pencil. I still need to work on this tech some more, but at least I can have some fun while learning. This stamp set is from The Angel Company and is called "The Great Outdoors"

Miss You Mouse

Here is a fast and easy card that I made using an image I stamped from Jen B'x stamps. The set name is Pick of the Patch by TAC. The little critters in this set are just TOO cute. I have had a lot of fun playing with these. Thanks Jen for letting me stamp some of these images.

TAC September Specials

After looking at my previous posts with pictures of the September specials, I realized it was hard to see what the stamp sets really looked like. Here is a link to them on The Angel Company's website if you would like to see them in closer detail.

More Christmas Cards

Here are a couple more Christmas cards that I have worked on for the Christmas card challenge on A Shade of Blue. Neither of these came out the way I had pictured in my mind when I started, but I like them. The stamps are all TAC, but I am not sure of the set for the wreath, since it came in an old grab bag. The sentiment is from a Limited Edition version of the "Be Authentic" set that is in the current catty.

September 5 Sketch Challenge

Here is my latest sketch challenge on A Shade of Blue

One Hoppy Flower

This is a quick card I did using an old A Shade of Blue sketch challenge. If fact I had most of the card put together a long time agin (like over 9 months ago) and decided that I didn't like what I first started with it. I found it in a pile on my stamping desk the other day when I was playing with my new scalloped punches and threw this together. This is from the same set, "Hoppy Everything" by TAC, that I used on the Frog card a couple of posts below. It is nothing spectacular, but I like something about it anyways.

Remember September

There are two great specials going on with The Angel Company this month. One is for customers and the other is for those who hostess a party. These are such great deals you won't want to miss out...do you realize that when you add up the value of the paper special that the stamp set is ONLY $2.05!!!! WOW! It is hard to beat that.

New Punches

I have been wanting some of the scalloped punches for ages and finally was able to get my grubby little hands on them. I had some time to play today while my mother-in-law was visiting and stamping with me, and this is the card that I came up with.

The stamp set is "Hoppy Everything" by TAC, and I once again used the wonderful Crop-A-Dile to set my eyelets. I am using eyelets like never before now that I have that great tool. If you haven't used one I can't explain what you are missing out on.

Monkeying Around

I just found out last night that my almost 5 year old nephew fell off a chair and broke his arm. So I made a quick card in hopes of cheering him up. I used some images another demonstrator had sent to me quite awhile ago, but I have never had the time to use. The set is called "Monkey Business" and was perfect for this.

The inspiration for this layout was todays sketch challenge on SCS.

Boys Will Be Boys Swap

I was recently in a 3x3 card swap called Boys will be Boys. It was a lot of fun. I LOVED all the cards that I received, the ladies were so creative. These are the cards that I received in the swap.

Christmas Card

My wonderful husband got me a gift certificate for our anniversary, and then to top it off, he went shopping with me. It was a lot of fun. One of the things that he "got" for me was a new Cuttlebug embossing folder. I have loved all the cards I have seen with these snowflakes.
I am also a part of a Christmas card challenge on A Shade of Blue. The idea is to do a set amount of cards each month so that when it is time to send out Christmas cards in December there is no stress. I have about 50 cards done, and my goal is to do a 100. It feels good to know that even if I get no more finished I would have enough to send out to my family and closest friends,
The stamp set used on this card is called Fall Sampler, a bit of a misnomer since it has both fall and winter stamps in it. I once again used my Clever Lever punches and colored with watercolor pencils and Dove blender.

Quick and Easy Cat Card

This is one of the easiest cards that I have made in a long while. It is using a left over piece of paper (Uptown Girl-TAC) from the first card in the post below this one. I used another two of Clever Lever punches that TAC carries, but this time I used the Mega and Super Jumbo Circles. Again I colored the GWP cat stamp with watercolor pencils, a Dove blender, and stickles. I added another stamp set, called My Journey, for the words. Quick, simple, and every so easy, but I know a young lady who will LOVE it.

Uptown Girl And GWPs

Here are two cards I made using the Uptown Girl paper from The Angel Company and two of our Gift with Purchase stamps, that come free with any $30 purchase made from a demonstrator. I used the two largest size Merchandise Tag punches for the tag and added a little ribbon with a staple for a finishing touch. For a bit of pizzazz on the cat I put a little bit of pink Stickles. All the coloring was done using watercolor pencils and a Dove Blender pen. I think she came out kinda cute. The only real difference between the cards is the main color on the background and the kind of ribbon on the tag.

Playing with a New Toy

I was finally able to get my hands on some of the Cuttlebug Embossing Plates right before I went on vacation. I LOVE them. They are so fast and easy to use with my Big Shot, and make such great impressions...no more hurting hands for meHere are a couple of cards that I made while I was playing with them. As you can tell I am still in love with the Pull Up Anchor set that I got for myself earlier this summer. I have had so much fun with it.
