A year ago, while in Nebraska to celebrate my grandfather's 90th birthday, I was given a couple of boxes of fabrics, craft books, and other miscellaneous things that had belonged to my grandmother who had passed away the summer before my senior year. (We won't discuss how many years ago that was. =P) Among the pieces of fabric were some squares she had cut to start a quilt. I used these squares, and cut some of my own from her her stash, to make a quilt top. It is just a little smaller than twin size, so I am going to buy a little matching fabric to make an edging. This quilt makes me so very happy. Working with fabrics that my grandma created with feels like a gentle connection. How I wish I had her wisdom and guidance now.
How pretty, Trudy! Quilting is such a fun hobby!!
